Above all the purpose of Engineering-IT is to facilitate the interaction of product – and process engineering and thus enable Simultaneous Engineering. Fundamental for that is a clearly defined product generation process (PGP). This requires first of all the process design and process improvement in accordance with the relevant information design. Based on the objective process design appropriate methods and tools are brought to bear in the contradictory contexts of strategic goals and operational improvements.
